Cosmetics and Materials Adhesive This is a chemical that allows 2 surfaces to bond together permanently e.g. to secure nails tips or mesh to the natural nail. It is usually applied with a pointed applicator tip called an extender tip or with a brush.
Manicure Pads These are two main types; * Cotton wool pads encased in gauze. They have a gentle, non- scratching abrasive action & are ideal for the removal of any nail wrap or extension product after it has been soaked in remover. They are also ideal for the removal of nail varnish etc as only a few cotton fibres escape adhering to the surface. * Cellulose pads. As Cotton pads but they are slightly more abrasive and being cellulose instead of Cotton wool do not leave any residue. These are normally purchased on a roll. Cuticle Oil Contains oil such as lanolin, almond oil & mineral oil. This should be worked into the cuticle & surrounding skin at completion of the treatment to combat any dryness resulting from the filing & to provide a better look to the finished result.
Brush Cleaner This contains solvents to break own the hardened acrylic built up on the brush during application. It is essential to clean the brush thoroughly to prolong its life & to keep it in good condition for future use. It contains harsh chemicals, which can damage the skin, therefore use it with caution. The brush must be suspended in the solution so that the bristles maintain their shape.
Acetone / Tip Remover Solvents that efficiently remove nail extensions. Non-Acetone Polish Remover. This should always be used to remove varnish from nail extensions. A non-acetone Polish Remover such as the Pure Nails product safely removes polish without breaking down structures or softening the natural nail.
