Nail Implements Implements Cuticle Knife / Pusher & Cuticle Nippers Used in the client preparation process for removing excess cuticle covering the nail plate & to trims away excess cuticle. Hoof Stick & Orange Wood Sticks Used in the client preparation process, hoof sticks or cotton wool tipped orange wood sticks are used to gently push back the cuticles. Fabric Scissors These small sharp scissors are designed to cut Fibreglass or Silk mesh without allowing it to fray. They also enable the technician to cut closely & accurately within the cuticle & surrounding skin. Tip Cutters Specially designed to cut cleanly through artificial nail structures without damaging the natural nails. Product Applicator Brushes These are wooden handled brushes made of natural hair, usually Sable or the better quality Kolinsky Sable. They have a rounded or pointed tip & come in a variety of sizes. The larger size can hold a lot of Acrylic / gel & is ideal for application of full sets of nails. Extensions. The smaller sizes brushes are ideal for infill work. The brushes should be cleaned in the liquid monomer after every use, reshaped & allowed to dry naturally with the bristles pointing upwards. Never wash your brushes in soapy water, acetone or brush cleaner as these dry out the hairs & make them difficult to use. Dappen Dishes These glass dishes are ideal for holding the right amount of gels, acrylic powders & liquids, whilst performing the treatment. They need to be small to minimise evaporation & for hygiene & economy reasons. The powders, liquids & gels must never be returned to their original containers or contamination will occur, plus only a small amount will be thrown away at the end of the treatment.
